Stand up for what you believe! Participate in all available meetings, committees and training. Be reliable! Do what you say you're going to do, when you say you're going to do it. Take initiative! If something needs to be changed, become a “change agent” – don’t leave it for someone else to do.
Respect
Actively listen and acknowledge other’s viewpoints. Be respectful, patient and recognize the value of everyone’s job – if you need someone’s help, realize that they have their priorities. Be sensitive to each other’s values, cultures, beliefs and orientation – reap the richness of the wide diversity of people around you. Be friendly and thoughtful to all around you.
Teamwork
Recognize others contributions and successes. Coorperate with fellow staff members and support their efforts. Support decisions and activities made by management; know that all decisions are made with the agencies overall best interests in mind. Don’t take ourselves too seriously – sometimes we just need to have fun.
Creativity
Encourage thinking “outside the job”. Encourage discussion around points of disagreement or uncertainty. Challenge the status quo. Envision the possibilities – dream big! Everyone should be allowed to experiment, fail and try again.
